New Malcolm X – 500,000 sf. College Campus on Chicago’s Near West Side that focuses on the health and science fields. Built directly across the street from the current college on its parking lot, facility features space for health science, general education and adult education instruction, as well as student services and athletics. A new conference facility, auditorium and parking garage also constructed. As the healthcare hub of City Colleges’ College to Careers (C2C) initiative, the new campus is designed with input from C2C healthcare industry partners, faculty and staff. College features classrooms that allow for combined didactic and skills training, including a virtual hospital that will simulate the healthcare work environment. Close attention is being paid throughout the design and construction process to create an energy-efficient building that promotes teaching and learning, and student success and wellness.
