Old Veteran Construction Past Projects
| 26. J.O.C.-City of Chicago-Department of General Services/Chicago, IL | Client: City of Chicago, Dept. of General Services | Construction Dates: May 2005 - December 2007 | General Scope of Project: Job order contract required OVC to respond quickly to work orders issued by the city: visit sites to review existing conditions, define scope, provide estimates based on the agreed on unit prices and bid factor markup and dispatch sub-contracts with a matter of days. Most work orders contained no documents and ideal solutions were determined between OVC and the Department of General Services. Work orders deemed large enough were performed on a design-build basis. OVC reserved carpenters and laborers on staff, as well as masons and tuck pointers to perform those trades on a consistent and timely basis, allowing OVC to more efficiently service the city’s work orders.
